IMEG provided engineering design services for a new high school in Verona, WI, which will help solve the district’s overcrowding issues and provide a campus-like layout for up to 2,200 students.

The school offers various academic programs such as technical education, engineering, bio-med, and agriculture, and houses an animal science lab, greenhouse, and culinary kitchen classrooms. The 585,000-sf school also features a performing arts center, visual arts suite, a four-station athletic field house with an indoor track, a competition eight-lane swimming pool, outdoor learning environments, and a football stadium.

Engineers provided MEP, fire protection, technology, and security design, as well as construction administration services for the high school. The IMEG team met regularly with the architect and owner to incorporate an integrated team approach to meet the aggressive design schedule. The project was delivered via CM with design assist from subcontractors.

The building’s sustainability features include a ground source geothermal system with a bore field located under the parking lot, energy recovery, demand control for ventilation, LED luminaires, and natural daylighting for instructional spaces.
