The new Nancy and Rich Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will open<\/span>\u00a0to the public on\u00a0<\/span>Saturday, Nov. 21<\/span>, 2020.\u00a0<\/span>IMEG<\/span>\u00a0provided structural engineering and design services for the new<\/span>\u00a0237,<\/span>000<\/span>-sf,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>three-story\u00a0<\/span>building<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0The design features a concrete perimeter and steel support for each floor and the trussed roof.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Kinder Building<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>includes\u00a0<\/span>102,366-sf of exhibition space<\/span>\u00a0for modern and contemporary art<\/span>, a 215-seat theater, restaurant and caf\u00e9, underground parking, and pedestrian tunnels connecting\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0to the\u00a0<\/span>m<\/span>useum\u2019s existing gallery buildings and new Glassell School of Art.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
