Nine IMEG projects have been named Best Project in their categories in the Engineering News-Record Regional 2022 Best Project competitions. Six more IMEG projects received Awards of Merit in their categories. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All Best Projects will move on to compete in ENR\u2019s national Best of the Best Awards.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The winning projects are:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Best Project, K-12 Education \u2014 California:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>San Francisco Day School. IMEG provided structural engineering for the Bay Area private school that included an 18,500-sf, three-story building expansion of the current K-12 campus building. The building addition features a basement and a roof deck community use space. Next to this new structure addition is an existing 3,000-sf building that was renovated as part of the project. <\/span>Herrero Builders<\/span> submitted the award nomination.<\/span> Read more.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Best Project, Interior\/Tenant Improvement \u2014 California: <\/span><\/b>Confidential client in Los Angeles. IMEG provided structural engineering for the $450 million mixed-used project that includes two multi-story office buildings, a 165-seat high-performance theater, a single-story retail space, and a 20-story, 193-unit residential tower. <\/span>Clune Co<\/span>n<\/span>struction<\/span> submitted the award nomination.<\/span> Read more.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Best Project, Interior\/Tenant Improvement \u2014 Mountain States: <\/span><\/b>Lincoln Crossing Lobby Renovations, Denver. IMEG provided MEP design for this project, which transformed a 27,000-sf lobby into a modern, open-plan space that serves two adjoining office towers located in a high-traffic, multimodal area. Expanding the building footprint across an existing outdoor patio also created space for a new fitness center. IMEG provided structural engineering design services for the seven-acre, non-profit retreat for teachers nestled into the hillside of a mountainous area. <\/span>Oz Architects<\/span> designed the building; <\/span>Hyder Construction<\/span> was the contractor. <\/span>Read more.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Best Project, Government\/Public Buildings \u2014 Midwest: <\/span><\/b>City of Johnston new Town Center and City Hall<\/span><\/a>. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, and security engineering design services as well as commissioning and construction administration for the $9.3 million, 24,000-sf city hall. IMEG provided medical equipment planning for the hospital\u2019s 460,000-sf, seven-story tower addition. The tower houses a 48-bed NICU with all private rooms, 30-bed PICU, 30-bed CCU, observation unit, pharmacy, surgical suite, diagnostic imaging, expanded emergency department, and sterile processing. IMEG provided commissioning services for the 130,00-sf, $60M facility, which opened in May. The <\/span>Tech Post Center + Arena<\/span> hosts major esports and entertainment events, cultural and learning experiences in a 3,000-seat state-of-the-art technology arena, integrated classrooms and meeting spaces, a research and development lab, a 24-hour electronic gaming area, and a full-scale food hall. The facility also will house the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology. The Tech Sport Center + Arena was designed by <\/span>RVK Architects<\/span> and constructed by <\/span>Sundt Construction<\/span>, Inc. <\/span>Read more.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Best Project, Cultural\/Worship \u2014Midwest:<\/span><\/b><\/strong> Pepper Family Wildlife Center at Lincoln Park Zoo. IMEG provided commissioning services for the renovation of the lion house at the Lincoln Park Zoo \u2013 a historic building that originally opened in 1912. The project included renovations to the existing 35,000-sf lion house to create a new state-of-the-art habitat for animal welfare and immersive viewing opportunities for guests. The project was designed by Goettsch Partners and constructed by Pepper Construction. The new, 74,900-sf community facility of the Union Rescue Mission includes housing units and space for support services and administration. <\/span>PNG Builders<\/span> submitted the award nomination.<\/span> Read more.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Award of Merit, Government\/Public buildings \u2014 Mountain States: <\/span><\/b>Aspen City Hall, Aspen, CO. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and energy modeling engineering design services for the 37,000-sf LEED Gold and WELL Silver city hall, which houses city services, public meeting spaces, and city council chambers. <\/span>Read more.\u00a0<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Award of Merit, Healthcare \u2014 Midwest:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>The renovation of a historic department store in downtown Peoria, IL, into <\/span>OSF Healthcare\u2019s headquarters<\/span>. IMEG provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for the $135 million renovation of the 225,000-sf Block & Kuhl building, built in 1904, into the OSF Healthcare Ministry headquarters for owner, Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis. IMEG provided medical equipment planning for the $460 million consolidation of two hospitals into a new 520,000-sf, 240-bed tertiary teaching hospital on the edge of the Michigan State University campus. The facility has a Level III emergency department, orthopedic and sports medicine institute, cardiac programs, women and children\u2019s health services, and a birthing center. Read <\/span>more<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Award of Merit, Higher Education\/Research \u2014 Midwest:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>The renovation of <\/span>Pillsbury Hall<\/span><\/a>, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. The iconic building was constructed in 1889 as a science hall. IMEG provided mechanical engineering and design services for the $36 million renovation of the 62,500-sf building. In June 2021, it reopened as home to the Department of English, its creative writing program, and the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub with contemporary learning environments, non-laboratory research, and space for collaboration. McCain III Elementary School in Buckeye, AZ.\u00a0<\/span>IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the new, $25.5-million K-8 school. The facility has <\/span>three age-based learning communities with a flexible floorplan that can adapt to ability-based instruction involving teacher-facilitated learning.
